Drie Triple IPA
It’s that time of year again – when we have a chance to sit back, catch our breath and look at where we’ve come from. Year 1 and Year 2 were both pretty quiet in comparison to Year 3 – it was a long, slow build that finally started to catch fire in 2016. We aren’t sure where 2017 is going to take us, but we’ve got some amazing plans in place.
All that comes later, though. Right now is a moment for celebration and we’re thrilled to bring back one of the most confounding beers we’ve ever produced. We produced Drie for the first time last year to celebrate our Third Anniversary and it was so popular with you and with us that we’ve decided to enshrine it as our Anniversary beer.
It starts its life as a Belgian Tripel – light in color, big in alcohol and with classic Belgian phenolics including clove, pepper, spice and a hint of banana. But we’re never willing to settle when we can tinker instead – so we layer hop after hop in ever increasing amounts building to an insane level. It blasts right past the hop character of a Double IPA and jets into what can only be described as Triple IPA.
Those phenolics and the hop profile of citrus, tropical fruit, dank deliciousness and a spicy, smoky hint right at the end all come together to create this beer that becomes greater than its individual parts. It’s a beer unlike anything you’ve had (unless you’ve had this beer) so come out and join us on January 14 when we celebrate the year gone by and the year to come.
